From more traditional beginnings, the city took off over the last 15 years to bring us some of the most sought after architecture in the area. These are just three of the examples. China’s economy is seeing huge growth levels, apparently so is their real estate market. From the very odd on the far left, to the simple yet beautifully modern designs, Beijing is a modern thriving metropolis. A lot of its best work was inspired from the Olympics that were held there. Which makes me wonder and want to research what has happened to these great structures since the games have left the city? It could be wasting away like many Olympic sites do.
This week we head to the City State of Beijing, China. I have deemed it the City of Old and New due to its ancient look in some areas and superb modern architecture in other areas. Tiananmen pictured here is the capital building of The Peoples Republic of China it reminds me of ancient China’s proud history of all of the Dynasties and wars that were fought to secure the land. I say proud because China, though sometimes corrupt is still an impressive country with a rich history of culture and art. Tiananmen is known globally as the entrance to the Forbidden/Imperial City pictured below. This week we will examine the city itself as well as art and the general culture associated with Beijing.
It is interesting to believe that by 2020 there will be a new worlds tallest building that actually will trump this one. We see in this photo that only the tallest buildings in Dubai can be seen above the clouds and the fog on what appears to be an early morning. The light that we see coming up is undoubtedly from the levels of light pollution from the city below. All of the buildings in the city are of significant height, however, the ones that we can see actually tower all the rest. Each tall spire that is reaching toward the rest of the universe is lit up like a beacon of hope for a dark world. Just one mans opinion, but this looks very calm and serene up from this view. Under the clouds one can expect commotion, horns, sirens, tv’s blaring, and lots of talking. Up here it is peaceful, quiet and majestic.
This week we will look at Dubai in many different images. The city and area has been quite eerie in the past few years as alot of the buildings have been empty and unfinished. Though it is starting to pick up the city still provides eerie pictures thanks to its geographic conditions as well as its out of the box architecture. The city as a whole contains some of the worlds most impressive architecture. For photographers and vista lovers the area has become an area that is very desired to visit by many. It is serene and beautiful. As you can see by this picture of the current that is heading in to shore, the picturesque views and vistas are absolutely calming. This week we will see many different images from this area of the world.
As we are all recovering from the many July 4th Fireworks displays that took place yesterday, I stumbled across this image that in my mind absolutely trumps even the best one i have ever seen. This image may be one of the best capture images of the Burj Dubai Tower on New Years Eve, shortly after its opening. The tower is lit up and shines as a beacon over the city. It is a beacon of power, prominence, and hope for the regions future. This and many others like it are magnificent representations of the power that fireworks release. Such brilliant light and vibrant colors. I encourage you to search out additional pictures.
